Another Yellow-sand shot from Kyoto's Kamo River area. The sepia quality of the colors remind me of an ink painting on old silk, but this is actually a full color photograph taken along the banks of the Kamo River in Kyoto. In the spring of 2006, the extraordinary volume "yellow sand" (kosa 黄砂) blown over from China robbed the sky and the cherries of their color. Here, it has created just enough haze to balance out the exposure between the sun and the trees. A beautiful but simultaneously sad effect caused by over grazing and poor resource use in a land hundreds of miles away.
I think the crow in the tree on the right makes this pic, but I wish it had opened its wings, or was flying above the trees.
